Chat Room Help
The Chat Room allows you to communicate with other people in the Chat Room in real time. They type
something, then you read and respond to it. Then they read and respond to your messages.

You cannot start using the chat room until you log into it. After you log into the Chat Room, you must
wait a few
seconds for the Chat Room to load
.

Chat Room Login:

Simply click in the box at the top that reads Enter A User Name  and enter the Chat Nickname you want to use
in the chat room. No spaces are allowed in your nickname. Then press
Enter/Return on your keyboard or click
the
Connect button below and you will be logged into our Chat Room and can start using it. The display window
will welcome you to the room.

Your nickname is
not saved from session-to-session and you do not need to register to use the chat room. You
can use any nickname, with the following exceptions:

You can't use a
reserved name, such as an Administrator or staff name.
You can't use a
name someone is already using in the chat room.
You can't use any
names that are in violation of this web site's policies, such as obscene, vulgar, hateful, or
profane names. Violating this rule could result in your being banned from the chat room either temporarily or
permanently.

Once in the chat room, you will see a list on the left of the other users currently in the room. You simply type your
messages into the
input box at the bottom, press Enter/Return on your keyboard, and your messages will
appear in the
display window in the middle of the screen, preceded by your nickname. Other users messages
will also appear there, preceded by their nicknames.

Enter/Return key on your keyboard or click the Send button next to the input box. Your nickname appears in the
display window, followed by what you typed.

Here is how the text is displayed in the display window after you enter it from the input box:
